Grape and Bow Tie Pasta Salad

Recipe from Ferguson Ridge Church homecoming.

While my hubby was visiting an area church homecoming one of our friends gave him her daughter's recipe for a broccoli grape salad and let me tell you it is so good that you just cannot quit eating it.

Ingredients:
  • 1 Cup Chopped Pecans
  • 1/2(16oz.) Pack Farfalle(bow-tie) Pasta
  • 1 Lb.Fresh Broccoli
  • 1 Cup Mayonnaise
  • 1/3 Cup Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Red Onion, diced
  • 1/3 Cup Red Wine Vinegar
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 2 Cups Seedless Red Grapes, halved
  • 8 Bacon Slices, cooked and crumbled or Bacon Pieces
Directions:
Cook the past in boiling water until al dente. Drain. Sit aside. Wash the broccoli and tear it apart into very small pieces.Put in a large bowl.Cut all the other ings. up and put in the large bowl and sit aside. In a medium bowl mix the vinegar, sugar, salt and mayo together. Stir good. Pour this over the other ings. and stir again.Ref. and let chill at least a hour before serving.

The bacon pieces are found at Walmart in a white bag down past the dressings. They are the Great Value brand and are very good in this. But if you have any left over make sure you store the bacon pieces in the refrigerator as they will mold if left out and not ref.

East 80 London Ky Yardsale Hot Dog Chili

While going to the London yard sales that they have every Labor Day weekend we went to a area church who was selling hot dogs along with their yard sale items. Let me tell you this was some good hot dogs so the lady very kindly gave us her chili recipe. This really surprised me as most people do not like to give out their recipes. Me, I am glad to give anyone a recipe that I have as that is just part of being kind to people and part of being southern. So here is her recipe for the chili. If you do not like your chili sweet you can cut back on the sugar or leave it out. Me, I like the sweet taste of it as it is very good hot dog chili.

From KEPHANIE J.

Best if this is made in a crockpot.

Lift up your foot, Laughing at my daughter

My son had bought my daughter a sewing machine for Christmas around two years ago and with her moving she had put it up. So he ask if she had used it yet. No, she told him. So he told her to bring it over with her when she came to visit him.

As he is a quilter he was going to show her how to thread up her machine. Of course now days most everything comes with a dvd to show you how to operate what you buy.

Since she had never opened the box she did not even know it was in there.
So they put in on and he was showing her how to thread it along with the dvd.

They got some material out for her to practice on. She came to the end of the material and he told her to lift up the foot so she could get the material out from under the plate.

She told him she had her foot lifted and he said no you don't so this went on for a few minutes as he was sitting beside her and could see the presser foot was not lifted.

What was she doing, lol, lifting her foot up off of the paddle that lets it run. We all looked down and there she was had her foot up in the air.

Talking about laughing we did. That was a good one.
So if you are sewing and don't know what a foot it it is the part where the needle goes down into the plate and you let the back handle down to hold the material in place. Just don't lift up your big foot off of the paddle lol.......
